Seminar of Enhance Study Motivation for Non-professional English Speaking Student

On August 31st, 2018, the Faculty of Professional English of Foreign Trade University (FTU) organized a seminar of “Enhance study motivation for non-professional English speaking student”.

The seminar honorably welcomed the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang – Vice President of FTU. There was also the participant of the keynote speaker from Kansai University (Japan): Professor Curtis Kelly and many students of FTU.

For a long time, the use and cultivation of the language have been a big problem for the students, especially students who are non-professional speakers of language in general and English in particular.

Therefore, in the context of global integration to advance the quality of the workforce and move closer to the requirements of the international environment are a very necessary activity.

The seminar included 3 main speeches:

– Teaching methods for students who have difficulty in learning language – 3Ls psychology application presented by GS. Curtis Kelly – Kansai University (Japan);

– Motivation and attitudes to learn English majors at FTU presented by MSc. Phan Kim Thoa;

– Develop curriculum to promote motivation to study writing skills for non-professional English speaking student in first- year presented by MSc. Do Thi An.
